Role Description

Reporting to the Director of Construction, this full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Project Manager located in Ottawa, ON. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day tasks related to the installation of mechanical systems on assigned projects. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience within the mechanical construction industry, have excellent communication, organizational skills and be quick to learn and eager to grow within the organization. 

Responsibilities

• set up all new projects when assigned within the Procore project management system;
• creating, managing, and updating the project budget;
• creating, managing, and updating the required project construction schedules;
•  Timely and accurate preparation of all project invoices and progress billing applications in accordance with the Alliance accounting procedures;
• complete project procurement requirements;
• manage all project quality control / assurance requirements
• Provide monthly work in progress (WIP) reports
• Schedule and manage labour with the general foreman and foreman for assigned projects within the budget
• manage shop drawing submittals and reviews;
• communicate all required project related correspondence with vendors, suppliers and field supervision and labour resources;
• providing detailed pricing of CCNs as per project requirements using our estimating software;
• Manage and scheduling sub-trades

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems
• Previous experience in MEP project management
• Proven track record in procurement and budgeting for mechanical projects
• Background in Mechanical Engineering or trade experience in plumbing or sheet metal
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects concurrently
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
• Working knowledge of Procore is an asset
• Experience in the residential high sector is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or Equivalent experience
• Ability to work in a team environment and work efficiently under little supervision
